Today is Mother's Day and I got a stepping stone making kit from Target to make for my mom because she likes putting things in her garden. I looked around for some animal garnishing but I didn't have any good luck. I actually checked out a couple antique stores on Littleton Blvd. with K but there still wasn't anything good enough for my mom.
When I think of Mother's Day I think of colors, babies, flowers, pink, sunshine, picnics, family movies, and cook-outs on the back porch. Speaking of cook-outs, my dad is making this chicken dish for dinner and it smells VERY good!!! My dad has a talent for cooking, spices, concoctions, and using left overs. Some times the dishes look a bit questioning BUT the smell is DELICIOUS!!!
Leah made waffles for breakfast and is making corn bread before she goes to work at 5. It's a shame that she won't be here for dinner cuz she gets off at 8 tonight. Maybe we'll skype Courts when she gets back but we'll see.
We're watching "Blindside" now so I'll post later :)

Downtown
For New Year's Eve me, Josh F and K went downtown. We met at the lightrail station at 10 and got onto the "train" as K calls it. We sat there and waited for a long time it seemed and it was very packed. I'm glad we were able to find a seat for us. There was a group of guys ahead of us that kept talking and were really loud and it got annoying after a while. They had 7up pop cans in their hands but i think one of the guy's had more than just soda in their can. it was dark out and we were going to the midnight fireworks showing. I felt like a long time and we just admired our reflections for a while. We got to this place where they have car shows sometimes and i think it was the building that Sam's Graduation ceremony was held. Normally the lightrail took us to the 16th St. mall but for some reason this year it didn't. We had to walk a few blocks to get there. We went to Starbucks and got some hot chocolate and just hung outside the store and waited for midnight to come. It was a lot of fun. Me and K kept trying to "find girls" for Josh F to check out because him and his girlfriend just broke up. We were just kidding though. I wasn't surprised but i couldn't understand why some girls wore short dresses or skirts or shorts outside it was very cold and by the end of the night my toes were numb. I got a plastic trumpet toy and Josh F and K got some "lightsabers". We waited for the fireworks. K withdrew and it was because i wanted him to not hold me the whole time which was kinda awkward but nice. Josh even observed it. K put his hood on and was very quiet. As we walked back to the lightrail i had brought some candy canes to hand out and K gave one to a sleeping/drunk guy on the sidewalk which was very nice. WE also saw a drunk guy throwing up....it was very GROSS!!!!! AS we waited in line i tried to talk to K and he was ok once i started talking to him agian but it was still kinda wierd. Some guy was graffiting a billboard of the train routes and was trying to be all sneaky about it i think he was drunk too. i was very cautious and careful about others around me. K tried to protect me too. I didn't want us to be seperated so i kept making sure we were all together. Once we made it to the Mineral Station we parted ways. I then asked K what was the matter and he said it was because he thinks that i like Josh more than a friend!!!!! I was like NOOOOOOOO!!!! I wouldn't like Josh more as a friend because he's still in love with his ex and it would just be very awkward and not right. He didn't believe me though and we had an awkward silence going to his house. We left on a good note though. Overall it was a good night and a good New Year's.

The Holiday of Christmas
The birth of Christ, Santa Claus, Decorations, snow. Christmas is another time of giving. It's a time of remembering Christ's birth, the 3 kings, shepherds, songs and feasts. It's not really about presents or stupid Santa Claus. My dad says that inventing Santa Claus is a good way for kids but i don't agree. Dad has wierd points of view sometimes. This year we did the Nativity program with the family: Mom, Dad, Courts, Sam, Kenny, Ameeta, Krish, Nate, me, and Leah. It was fun too. Christmas shouldn't be stressful, last minute or rushed. My mom this year was stressed over dinner because my dad decided to invite two other people to dinner without talking to my mom about it first so there was like maybe 12 people at the house. It was good to visit with the family though. It's a time of getting together and being around family and just experiencing the holidays.

The Best Times of Thanksgiving
The best times of Thanksgiving is the growing excitement and joyful emotions that Thanksgiving brings, the intense appetite that leads up to the Thanksgiving dinner, and the enjoyable company of the family. Being around the Holidays with the family is the best. I know some kids would disagree but they're views don't matter on this blog cuz it's MY blog!!!! There's just an atmostphere of family when November and December come around. October is a good one but that's more for like friends and such to go and have small parties and all that but November and December are 100% family months to me.

Thanksgiving Food
My favorite Thanksgiving food: mashed potatoes and turkey juice gravy, turkey, egg nog and rolls. Thanksgiving dinner is always worth-while. I love the smell in the morning when mom starts cooking the turkey and gravy. This year on Thanksgiving morning i was sleeping in the living room because Nate was here for the Holiday. It had to have been around 5ish or so and i heard Mom in the kitchen starting her journey to making the perfect Thanksgiving dinner. A few hours later i woke to the aroma of spices, meat, olives, gravy and the heat from the oven was also included. This post is about the food so i'm gonna skip to DINNER!!!!! O my gosh, my first reach was for the mashed potatoes and gravy. I LOVE mashed potatoes and gravy. My mom makes the best gravy and this year it was from the "neck" part of the turkey and it's juices ^-^ (I've learned this sign from Josh F.) Anyways, dinner was great, everyone was there eating together and passing food around. I only had one plate and was FULL!!!!! A few hours later i had some more but by the time Friday came i was STILL stuffed from Thanksgiving dinner. D-E-L-I-CIOUS!!!!!!
